The Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre was established in 1944 as the Johannesburg Child Guidance Clinic to provide counselling and guidance for parents and children with emotional and developmental needs.There is now one placement application accepted by JPCCC for Masters Art therapy students  to complete their placement hours.

Their services extend throughout Gauteng and operate from premises in Soweto and Parktown.

​In line with modern Child and Family Care Philosophy and the Children’s Act of South Africa, the strengthening and preservation of family life is the focus of services to JHB the community. Early detection of and intervention into challenges experienced by children and their families is vital to build capacity in families and communities.

​They also with issues such as the psycho-social impact of HIV/AIDS and poverty on children and their families, bereavement, divorce, separation, custody conflicts, marital problems, bereavement, unemployment, depression, anxiety, work-related problems and other psycho-social and emotional difficulties.
