The programme, consisting of lectures and discussions, presentations by the pioneering group of Masters students, four local and international panels and a visual dream matrix workshop, amplifies the long-time dedication of the profession that will finally see the first South African qualified Art Therapists in South Africa.
Through the Conference, the launch of the first South African Journal of Arts Therapies, and a new interactive website, the pioneering Art Therapy programme at UJ takes on the challenge of promoting the Arts Therapies as an Africa-centred hub of research and training for social impact. This Conference is supported by the UJ initiative Global Excellence and Stature (GES.4) to support multi- year projects that align to and advance impact in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
